Derrick, Rachel and Presley

I think this is the best of the recent posts from Derrick, Rachel and Presley :

First, "Oh there is one more really funny thing she has started to say Hello keep in mind she has said hi since she could talk."

Second, "We are definitely going to film and post it because I don't want to forget how sweet it is plus I want all of you to hear it too!!"

Third, "Well this is our first blog and I am not quite sure what I should write."

Forth, "I guess I will just update our current situation we live in Lubbock Texas the end!!"

Lastly, "I wanted to make a celebration cake for Derrick and I wanted it to be the Texas Tech colors with the Logo but as you can see by the picture it didn't work very well."

Vegetable Japan

In my opinion, what follows is the best of recent posts from Vegetable Japan:

First, "Outside clothes smell much better (assuming you don't live in a congested city) and the electricity we save by doing this must be considerable."

Second, "I don't think we can depend on political will to protect us from disasters."

Third, "I wondered about it all through the sweaty summer months but didn't feel the urge to try making the soup until the heat started to subside."

Forth, "We've all become addicted to bottled water but as many people are starting to recognize, tap water is better regulated than bottled water, hasn't travelled halfway around the world burning fuel to get to you, and isn't bottled in that modern scourge of landfills, the almost indestructible PET bottle."

Lastly, "Because it doesn't taste good I grew into the habit of drinking bottled water, along with millions of Japanese."

WWdN: In Exile

Here are my favourite parts of recent posts in WWdn: in Exile:

First, "I have a lot of hope for this film, though I seriously doubt it's possible to make it into anything less than 12 hours long and truly do the book justice, because Zack Snyder managed to turn 300 into something not only watchable, but something that was a faithful adaptation of the graphic novel."

Second, "I think he's around three years older than I am, and I fell in love with Star Wars figures at the same time; I was stuck wearing corduroys in the late 70s/early 80s (thank God they went out of style by the time my family moved to South Florida in 1984), and more."

Third, "In my first book, Dancing Barefoot, I wrote a story called The Saga of SpongeBob VegasPants (which, if nothing else, is a lesson to all you aspiring writers out there, and a reminder to the rest of us: put some fucking thought into your titles, guys, because if you don’t, you’ll be talking about The Saga of SpongeBob VegasPants for the rest of your life.)"

Forth, "I've vowed that I won't play Rock Band until I get at least half the 300 processed, but now that Slashdot is sending people to Monolith Press, I have extra incentive to get them all processed, so we can start taking softcover orders again."

Last, "Some of his most evocative stories (and the reason this review is here) are all about Wil's growth as a nerdling."

Bagdad Burning

Here are what I think are the most interesting parts of recent posts from Baghdad Burning:

first, "I hate that a handful of expats who haven't been to the country in decades pretend to know more about it than people actually living there."

second, "In so many ways, Damascus is like Baghdad before the war- bustling streets, occasional traffic jams, markets seemingly always full of shoppers… And in so many ways it’s different.

third, "How is it that a border no one can see or touch stands between car bombs, militias, death squads and… peace, safety?

forth, "We didn’t sleep the night before we had to leave because there seemed to be so many little things to do… It helped that there was no electricity at all- the area generator wasn’t working and ‘national electricity’ was hopeless."

lastly, "We arranged for a distant cousin of my moms who was to stay in our house with his family to come the night before we left (we can’t leave the house empty because someone might take it)."
